Lecture Series 2016 - The Good and Proper Conduct of Life in the City
How should one live in the city? In recent debates and conflicts about the availability and affordability of housing, the economical use of natural resources, how to deal with historic buildings and the stories they remind us of, or urban protest movements a tendency towards thematizing these problems primarily as ethical manners can be identified. Urban-ethical projects do not only aim at creating a “good city”, within them conflicts about the “good and proper conduct of life in the city” become visible as well. This series of lectures is organized in cooperation with the Institute of European Ethnology at Munich University. The talks will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm in room L 155 in Oettingenstraße 67, Munich. Some talks will be held in German language. For further details, please visit the program pages.
